Had a blast at the nearby Not So Indian for a cheeky curry and the salads at New Oceans were fresh and oh-so-yummy! Plus, the helpful gentleman made our arrival smoother despite the room mix-up.
We were bumped to a basic 3-bed room instead of our desired 2-bed, with no breakfast in sight since the café is still closed. The Ostrich pub offers posher digs for less!

I booked a night at the Gibtel for a budget price, but my experience fell short. The lady at check-in was really friendly and guided me to my room, which was a positive start. Unfortunately, the state of the room was disappointing. The carpet had stains, and the bedding looked tired and worn despite being washed. The shower had hair from the previous guest, which added to the feeling of uncleanliness. On the upside, the toilet was clean. I did appreciate the access to decent Wi-Fi during my stay. the noise from the nearby road and the overall ambiance made me feel uncomfortable and unsafe, as if it were more suited for truck drivers than families. I decided to leave and found a much better option nearby for a slightly higher price, where the cleanliness and comfort were night and day compared to the Gibtel.

missingWrote a review on Nov 09clean bathroomworking wifino receptioncramped showeroutdated furnishings
The double en-suite room offered a surprisingly clean bathroom with both a bath and shower, making it a decent spot to freshen up. Wifi and TV connections worked well, providing some basic entertainment.
Arriving to a locked building with no reception created an uneasy first impression. The furnishings in the room felt dated, with only one working light out of several, leading to poor visibility. Shower size was cramped, and the shower head needed replacing due to significant lime scale buildup. The traffic noise from the nearby main road was noticeable, and some guests expressed concerns about safety due to the general ambiance.

Reliable wi-fi connection available during my stay.
My experience at Gibtel Lodge was nothing short of a disaster. The so-called 'hotel' is essentially a car lot, with constant noise from mechanics and workers. The staff were unhelpful, and I had to call to get assistance when I arrived, which added to my frustration. To make matters worse, the cleaning standards were abysmal. I found food scraps on the bedside table, and the bathroom was uncomfortably cramped.

Great for a quick stay!
The place was nice and clean. They had a good selection of tea and coffee, which was a lifesaver! The shower was really powerful 😄. Only downside was the room size—it was kinda small for two. Had a decent breakfast but it felt a bit pricey for what you got.

Solo traveler great experience
Arrived and was greeted by a friendly lady who showed me the way to my room. The microwave and fridge made it convenient for late-night snacks,, which I really enjoyed after a long day.
The price wasn’t exactly a bargain,, but it was still bearable.
